Experimenting

So I've been completely gone for the past few days.  Mostly, it has been to work on UCO (Understanding Client Objectives) work.  We've been, more than anything, trying to work out the packaging, how it'll be set up, the size, the printing aspects, and of course design.  For any of those who may not know, the "product" is "Oscar Mayer Fish Dogs."  So basically hot dogs that are made out of fish that are cooked, eaten, and designed/marketed any way we wanted.  Our name for them are the Oscar Mayer Atlantic Sizzlers (previously Bay Franks), and here's an idea of our packaging (really only up here to update group members) :D

Enjoy!!

itty bitty mock up :]

as you'll see later, there is actually going to be a window
in the top flap of it to see through. :]

work station XP  gahhhhh!!
I thought this was a pic of the life sized one, but I'll
get a pic to show that later, it is on the table, but hard to see.

pain in the bum layout trial.  One of the other baby mock ups.

rough front with the window (also not with the folded
details on the bottom, will be like shown in the other mock.

Back :]

Did I mention I have a SERIOUS love hate with packaging?? lol I LOVE to see it finished, and I can appreciate allllll of the hard work that goes into it, but my goodness!  So much work!

Preview

Super quick post.  This is kinda my preview to what I've been doing at SCAD.  I have a lot to do for today so I wanted to share and just kinda took pics with my comp camera lol.  Both of these you'll see more of when I actually start doing my blogs on just the things I've done at SCAD. :]
Ad got printed last night.  For Budweiser, a beer launching fridge competition.

Guess it's kinda hard to tell here.  One of my teachers handed back our graded assignment.
She left sticky notes in everyones to tell them where in certain places
in the book things should be changed, what their grade was etc.  I only had one note.
All it said was, "Can I borrow?"  :D  This made me, SO, happy!!

Gotta run!  Finals are getting to be in full swing.  Ahhhh!!! <3

High School to Community College

Sooo, I'm getting impatient to show the things I have been working on lately as they have been progressing in class.  SO, in turn, I've decided to put pretty much all of the things that I did when I was in high school, and also when I went to community college in terms of design with photoshop and kinda things like that.  I have more from Community College but it's kinda just a different kind of thing I did with those, so I'm going to save them for later :]

Here we go though!

High School
(keep in mind this was the first time I've touched photoshop/design before :])

three bookmark designs we did for a contest for school.
kinda silly, but still love this :]
Did as my final for the design class.  Had to choose a teacher and ask them how
they'd like to see themselves in a picture.  My English teacher, Mrs. Erickson (at the time) had
said she wanted to see herself with the origional dracula, and with Grendel from Beowulf.
I remember being specifically excited for changing her bright red jacket to blue to go
with the color scheme, apparently quite the feat at that time lol.
We had to come up with a package design for something we made up.
I decided I wanted to make up a "Music Box" that could only be opened
once, and it was not what you'd normally think, but instead, it's for
musical inspiration.  That's why you could only open it once.  This is
what I always remember when I think of why I don't want to do Graphic
Design. lol  Dang boxes being so difficult! hahah
School Musical poster.  Again, was very excited for being able to color the
images the way I wanted to (dress for instance.)
Coloring the pictures that are in black and white.  My momma
and my Aunt Mary Kay when they were little :]
Ideation for ipod posters.  I like the birthday one, and the one in the eye.

Community College

Experimenting with illustrator again :]  This is my little
brother shane.
More experimenting, this time with Travis at a younger age :]
Redesign of the In Flames image on one of their CD covers.
Made everything in this magazine, even the made up company! hahah
I really loved doing this project, it was soooo interesting!
It's so amazing to reflect and look back on where I came from and all of the different things I've learnt, ESPECIALLY since I've come to SCAD and have been able to learn from all of the teachers and people here.  I love growing as a designer and an artist, and I really look forward to growing even more for the rest of my life :]

Much love to everyone!

Photography II

Since my last photography post had such good responses and views I decided to do another one since it's easy for me to post it and doesn't need much explaining (helps right now since there's not much time right now, ugh! Finals!)  Which leads me to say I feel bad I didn't get to post yesterday :[.  This past weekend was absolutely nuts!  I spent 8 hours Friday, 14 Saturday, and 11 yesterday only working on projects with my group for only one of my classes.  The time that was left in those days I was trying to get as much homework done for my other classes.  Nuts.  This has been an life draining weekend for sure lol.  Anyways, here's more of my photography.  Hope you enjoy :]

These are from the NY worlds archery shoot from 2009.

Love the levels and the shadows this picture created.  In my original it's
a little bit better but the colors change coming on here.

Put this in for laughs. :D  Loved this guy!

LOVE the contrast of scale in these two.

Bens bow after a long day :]

Someday I wanna be able to make a website to sell my pictures since I see some being sold online that...is less than amazing o_O
Oh well, thanks for looking!!  Have a great day!
